Martinsville Engagement Portraits | Megan + Tanner

What stood out to me from Megan’s initial inquiry was their desire to simply have fun during their wedding photos. We had a fantastic time capturing their Engagement Portraits on Saturday evening in Martinsville, VA. Megan & Tanner brought us out to Tanner’s childhood home for their engagement photos. The pond on the property, especially the pier where they got engaged, holds sweet memories for them. Between their fun personalities and the golden hour light, these two were shining during the session. We had the best time working together and look forward to their wedding in a few short weeks at The Barn at Mayo.

Though I adore beautiful flowy dresses and polished outfits, I also encourage my couples to wear their favorite outfits that truly represent them. This particular couple fully embraced the idea and showcased their style with boots, denim, and cowboy hats, to finish up the evening. Tanner even spruced up his truck and brought it along for the photos. Capturing a shot of an engagement ring nestled in a wheel well was a unique and exciting first for me, and I can tell you it won’t be the last! Check out that stunning shot and more below.
