There’s something timeless about the legacy shown within a family farmhouse wedding. Danielle and Thomas’ wedding celebration embodied exactly that.
This past weekend, I had the joy of photographing Danielle and Thomas’ wedding at Danielle’s family home in Moneta, VA. This farmhouse is the very same place where her parents exchanged vows years ago. This historic family farm, lovingly passed down through generations, provided the perfect setting for them to begin their new chapter together.
We captured their engagement portraits on the property last year, so it felt like coming full circle to document their wedding in the very same place.
The morning began with a light rain and a touch of anticipation in the air. But the clouds lifted and sunlight poured through the trees, touching the entire day with a golden warmth.
As guests gathered beneath the shade of the old trees, the couple exchanged vows on the steps of the farmhouse, surrounded by loved ones—and one furry onlooker. The family dog, Garth, quietly watched the day unfold from beneath the shade trees, never far from the action and soaking up the joy right alongside everyone else.
Danielle and Thomas’ day was, without a doubt, a family legacy farmhouse wedding—beautifully rooted in tradition, yet completely their own.
From the heartfelt ceremony to the bubble-filled exit, every moment was filled with love, legacy, and fun! And of course, we couldn’t ignore Thomas’ trusty chapstick, which makes a few appearances in their gallery—proof that even the smallest things can become a fun part of your story.
Danielle and Thomas, thank you for letting me be part of such a meaningful day. Your love story is building a legacy all of its own. Best wishes and a lifetime of beautiful and blessed years together!
