Urban Family Session in Downtown Roanoke Virginia
Jeff and Jen are sweet friends and he serves as the Associate Pastor of our church. Fun fact: we used to all live in Winston Salem, NC, and had connections there but never met. Fast forward a few years, God led us to cross paths and we’re so grateful to know this amazing family! What a privilege it was to serve them this week for family photos.
When preparing for their portrait session, I was excited to know they wanted an urban theme. The rich architecture and unique textures found along the streets of Downtown Roanoke, Virginia set the perfect backdrop for their session. With such a musically talented family, we decided to pay homage to “The Beatles” iconic Abbey Road photo. Complete with drumsticks in his pocket, Micah made sure I had them walking in the correct direction across the street. We joked they should have all brought their instruments along for a family band photo.
We may have been missing the instruments, but we still photographed fun memories for them to cherish for years to come. Check out one of my favorites below featuring Micah, Jeff, and Luke.
At just the right time, a train came by blowing its whistle and made for fantastic portraits of the kids!
A few years of marriage and 3 kids later, I absolutely love the way these two look at each other.
Thank you, Jeff and Jen (and your sweet kiddos) for having me capture this sweet season of your life. You all were an absolute joy to work with! Oh, I can’t forget sweet Annie who was the “goodest girl” in the pictures too!
These are absolutely wonderful and portray the Wylde family very well. So glad they had these done; they will cherish them forever.
Thank you so much, Vera!
